19th C. Japanese SATSUMA 7 Vase, MEIJI PERIOD, Floral Scenic
This listing is for a fine antique Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma porcelain gilt and enameled vase, c. The vase is hand painted with colorful polychrome enamels in a scenic design with a pair of pheasants, gorgeous flowers and bamboo trees in the background. The design is embellished with elaborate gilt accents. There is a red painted mark on the bottom of the vase although there is no signature or identification inside. Measures 7" high with an overall width of 3 1/2", a top diameter of 1 5/8" and a base diameter of 2 1/4". This lovely vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The enameling and gilding are bright with no rubbing and reflecting no wear. Have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
