A Pair of Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Crackle Glaze Vases. A pair of antique Satsuma crackle glaze vases.
From the Meiji period (1868 - 1912). Each decorated with a character and intertwined dragon. The vases are 16cm / 6.25 tall and are marked to the base with. Gold Kanji (including the Shimazu crest). There is some light wear to the gilding, most notably around the rim, and close inspection reveals one of the vases has a crack to the body (see last photo).
