Up for sale is a rare antique 19th century. Meiji Period Japanese Court Lady Ningyo doll. The piece is completely made by hand with elaborate detailing throughout and is very well crafted. The Court Lady is carved by hand out of wood and features inlaid glass eyes, a hammered brass and glass headpiece, and a wonderful linen dress. She holds a leash in her hand attached to a long haired dog standing on her side. They are mounted to a handmade ebonized and gilded wooden base with an original figural block printed screen in the back. The print depicts a stylized spider done with rich color and intricate detailing. It is in nice condition and measures. The figure has a chip to her thumb and the screen has a couple small hairline cracks at the joints as shown in photos. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. Please make sure to look at all pictures very closely before purchasing, as most pieces in my shop are non refundable.
