An earthenware vase, of open ovoid form. 1868 - 1912, early 20th century. The body depicting a continuous processional scene of warriors and samurai in their traditional attire, wielding swords, bow and arrows and kali sticks of bamboo.

The decoration is beautifully applied in an array of coloured enamels with a lovely contrast of black and white shades. Signed "Hattori" in a calligraphy seal to the underside of the base.

Good Condition, with one fine hairline to the top. 10cm in height x 13cm in width.
