Japanese Bronze Okimono of Elephant and Tigers by Seiya Meiji Period

This is a fantastic Japanese Bronze of an Elephant defending itself against an attack by a pair of Tigers. It is beautifully cast and stamped by prestigious makers Genryusai Seiya in Tokyo around 1900. The expression and feeling of movement is wonderful and the detail is very fine. Condition is it is a little dirty and the lower Tiger has a tiny bit of movement also an old repair to the tip of his tail (see photo 8) but these don't greatly distract from the piece.
