This lovely artifact dates to the Meiji era in japan c. It is a smoking set consisting of a brass, copper , paktong and bamboo pipe fitted into a carved and hollowed stag antler attached by a leather tong (with a bead that resembles amber) to a lether pouch decorated with a silver minuke cast and formed into the form of a mouse carrying bundles decorated with Japanese motifs. The antler pipe holder which features carved Ginko leaves and a seedpod is 8" long and the pipe is 77/8" long. The pouch is 3" x 4.4". The silver minuke is 1 3/4 long.
The piece has a great oldpatina with no damage other than a missing clasp that would have held the lid of the pouch in place when closed.
