A realistic depiction of a Lion by Japanese maker from the Meiji Period Circa 1900, a patinated bronze figure of a standing lion upon carved wooden plinth imitating the ground, a naturalistic, sharp & clear details to lion's mane, whiskers, caved eyes & powerful paws. Applied with mild brown patina. Overall figure is in very good condition, no damage, no repair, some age rubbings with minor scattered scratches. Marked: Japanese maker's mark, retail paper label on the bottom of the plinth. (plinth not included), Length 8 1/2 in. Plinth Length 9 1/8 in.
