This Japanese blue-and-white Imari plate is made of porcelain and was made more than 150 years ago according to the previous owner who is a Japanese antiques dealer. It is a stylized octopus pattern. This is an old genuine piece. There is a very small sightly raised tiny bit of porcelain on rim refereed to as a kamahl on rim - a slight kiln firing flaw, but mentioning it for accuracy. Excellent surfaces showing little ware.
