A charming true pair of Japanese Meiji period satsuma vases of hexagonal form beautifully hand painted & gilded with cartouches front & back depicting Summer turning to Autumn, with woman & children in garden scenes on the front and men going about their business on the reverse, both subtly detailing the turning in colour of the leaves. Both vases are finished with beautifully intricate border work and both are signed on the underside, each stands 7 ½ inches (18.5cm) tall and both are in excellent condition with no damage or restoration.
