V Large Meiji Period Japanese Bronze Okimono of Young Woman with Basket (Seiya)
This is a charming and impressive bronze of a young woman carrying a basket. It bears the stamp of the renown founders Genryusai Seiya and dates from around 1900. The bronze is extremely well drawn and observed with lovely detail I love the woven basket. It has fabulous colour and patina.
She has a really lovely face and expression a moment of calm before the hard work of the harvest. This is a large and very impressive bronze measuring 40cms high and weighing 5.5 kgs so a postal quote is probably advisable.
