19th C. Japanese SATSUMA 8.25 Vase, MEIJI PERIOD, Figural Scene
This listing is for an impressive antique Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma porcelain gilt and enameled cylinder vase, c. The vase is hand painted with colorful polychrome enamels with two main medallions - one with a scene with figures and a large bird decorated the reverse. The entire exterior of the vase is covered with multi-designs and is embellished with elaborate gilt accents. There is red painted unidentified calligraphy writing on the bottom. Measures 8 1/4 high with a top diameter of 3 3/4.
This lovely vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The enameling and gilding are bright with no rubbing and minimal, if any, signs of wear.
