A Lovely Meiji Period 3 Fold Laquered and decorated Screen. Late 19th / Early 20th Century. Likely A Table Screen or Fire Screen.The wood Laquered in black and each panel decorated, painted and onlaid with mother of pearl. The center panel depicting a Fan and peacock feather. The left panel a small shelf with a Vase, flowers and foliage. The Right Panel depicting sprays of flowers holding a small painted landscape. The screen folds down to the size of one panel. In good condition for age. Some minor losses to the mother of pearl. Some chipping to the black lacquer.
Wear is commensurate with age and use. It measures approximately 66cm high.Each panel is approximately 23.3cm width. Please view the photos carefully as they are a vital part of the description.
