This is a pair of e xtraordinary Japanese GINBARI Cloisonné Enamel Vases made in Meiji period (1867 - 1911). On each of the vases, a peaceful scenery is mesmerizingly depicted.
A white heron is resting in a pond where lotus are in bloom. Another heron and many butterflies are flying over the pond. Lotus is a symbol of peace and longevity in Japanese culture. There is no remarkable imperfection on the vase at right hand side. There are faint imperfections on the other at left hand side. Please review the photo #6 and #7.
A discolored line is observed at the inside of the neck (metal part). It is not a crack. A small faint dent, cracks from the dent and a slightly discolored part can be seen.
