Antique Japanese Meiji Period Cloisonne Green Turquoise Black Chrysanthemum Vase
This marvelous antique Meiji Period cloisonne vase is created in gorgeous black and green enamel with turquoise and bright green foil inlays, as well as pink, lavender, blue, yellow, white and green enamel chrysanthemums, all on a brass base. This beautiful vase as a gently shaped neck which flairs into a shapely vase, tapering into a narrow base.
Hallmarks are: Any hallmarks are unclear. I was told thisvase was possibly made by Kumeno Teitaro, Nagoya, but unverified. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=8 inches, Diameter at widest=3-1/4 inches.
This marvelous antique cloisonne vase has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent condition with cloisonne free from chips, cracks or other imperfections. The brass base has a few, shallow edge dents commensurate with age and use, but they do not diminish the beauty or usability of this fabulous vase. This fabulous vase is the perfect addition to your Japanese cloisonne collection, particularly if you like the Meiji Period design.
