A fine antique signed Meiji period Japanese bronze statue. In the form of a roaring tiger. Signed to the underside on a small tab.
Together with its original wooden plinth. Simply a great Meiji period bronze! Late 19th or early 20th century.
It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. The tiger lacks one eye.
Otherwise, there are some noticeable scratches and spots of wear to the patina, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. There are signs of wear and losses to the finish of the wooden base. Thanks for looking and good luck!
