A fine antique, mixed metals Japanese vase. Primarily in bronze with inlaid copper, gold and silver highlights. The front of the vase depicts a crane ankle-deep in water and surrounded by reeds. Simply a wonderful Japanese vase!
Late 19th or Early 20th Century. It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition.
There are 2 medium-sized dents near the top of the vase, one dent to the right of the crane, and a slight indention to the rim. All likely the result of a fall and all reparable by a competent metalsmith.
Otherwise, there is some slight unevenness in the patina, some spots of patina rubbing (particularly surrounding the crane as a result of polishing), some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. (Made by Yamamoto) and to the reverse?? Thanks for looking and good luck! This item is in the category "Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Vases".
