This lovely Japanese cloisonne charger is illustrative of the fine quality achieved by that nation's craftsmen during the Meiji Period. The charger, with its fine wire work and enamels depicting a bird amid various flowers, measures 11 1/4 inches in diameter. Dating from about 1890 to 1910, it is in very good condition, with only a little age related pitting and soiling, and with no dents or restoration.
