The tapestry was signed on the lower left as "Ping Zhou" in Kanji, likely the name of the weaver. The clouds on the tapestry were very finely woven, possibly using the technique Tsuzure (Nail weaving) in which the weaver's nails were serrated to hold the threads during the process.
The back panel is of an orange red with a Mon symbol (family crest) in gold thread woven into the center. Fukusa is a traditional Japanese textile art used as a panel for presenting gifts at important occasions. This piece is in great condition and custom framed under Ultra UV filtered glass to prevent fading and reflection. The back was also framed to be exposed. Measurement: 28.2w x 29.75"h x1".
