Small Japanese Meiji period Totai cloisonne porcelain lidded pot with handles - perfect condition. Pretty flower patterns in turquoise and mauve.
No damage, lovely subtle colours 6.5 cms tall by 7 cms wide at the widest part plus handles. This form of cloisonne is created on a porcelain (or other ceramic) base. The cloisons were applied to the base and the enamels subsequently. The method was only attempted for a short period - late 19th century to early 20th - and only in Japan.
