A large antique Japanese Imari charger (plate). Japan, Meiji period, circa 1880. This is a very large and impressive antique Japanese Imari plate. ALL hand painted in polychrome enamel, in blue cobalt, red and gold gilding. Decorated with flowers, plants and Shisa dogs (crossed between lion and dog).With 4 blue symbols marks at the back, and signed as pictured (see photo). The scalloped border gives more elegance and luxury to the work. Together with a wooden stand (I believe the wood stand is from a late period). Diameter : 18 1// inches (47 cm). H : 2 1/4 inches (6 cm). Please see photos carefully to admire the beauty of the work. No chips, cracks or any damage. Normal wear due to age.
