"Japan Fan, Meiji Period, Hiramaki-e, Shibayama". Magnificent frame decorated with flowers and insects in Hiramaki-e. Hiromaki-e is a technique of lacquer decoration, developed during the Muromachi period, which uses a decoration of gold powder covered with transparent lacquer. Decoration of birds and flowers also in Hiromaki-e with some mother-of-pearl inlays called "Shibayama". Some stains visible on the leaf, the frame is in perfect condition. It measures 13,19 inches long closed and 24,01 inches in diameter open. Complies with French declarative regulation.
